Chapter 54: To the Royal Capital (2)

Chapter 54 of “As A Result Of Breaking An Otome Game, The Villainess Young Lady Becomes A Cheat! (Part 1)”

Perhaps because of its location in the royal capital and the presence of the Royal Academy of Ravitz, there were several tailors in a row along the main street.

However, the carriage carrying us passed by these stores one after another. We finally stopped in front of a certain tailor’s shop, which was a little further from the main street in a slightly narrow area.

It was a slightly smaller building that had a sense of history.

In the window where I could look into the store, I could see two mannequins dressed with the uniforms of men and women of the Royal Academy of Ravitz.

The signboard said “Étoile.”

I think “Étoile” was the French word meaning “star.”

There is no such thing as French in this world, so why…?

I tilted my head.

After getting off the carriage, my brother and I put our hands on the door of the dark blue store. When we opened the door, we heard the sound of a bell ringing.

“Welcome.”

The person who greeted us was a small, elegant-looking old woman.

“Well…well! Isn’t that Lucas-sama?”

“Madame, it’s been a while.”

Oh. I didn’t know my brother knew about this place.

“You’ve grown up, haven’t you?”

The wrinkles at the corners of her eyes deepened as she smiled, squinting her eyes as if looking at her grandchild.

“Who is that…?”

“This is my sister, Charlotte.”

I was introduced by my brother, and I took a ladylike bow.

“Nice to meet you, I am Charlotte.”

“Oh, my. You’re so cute, yet so strong. My name is Mary. Everyone call’s me Madame.

“Then, I’ll call you Madame as well.”

I smiled at her and she gave me a soft smile.

“Madame, I would like to order a uniform today, is that okay?”

“Yes, of course. The Lucas-sama, who was so small, is now old enough to enter Ravitz…I must be getting old.”

Fufufu. Madame laughed and looked as cute as a little girl.

“No, Madame, you will always be young and cute.”

“Don’t make fun of your grandmother. Now, let’s measure you over here.”

Madame led us into a room with a large mirror.

She had my brother stand in front of it in his light clothes, and she used a tape measure to measure his body sizes one by one.

She told us that this was the same tailor shop where our father had his uniform made.

While the measurements were being taken, I decided to take a look around the store in my spare time.

The madame’s store sold ready-to-wear dresses, boleros, and other items that were rare in this world of tailors where custom-made was the norm.

Apparently, it was possible to have these items altered to fit the buyer’s body shape.

Many of the items were reasonably priced.

On a table in one corner of the store, there were some books on dress designs.

The designs ranged from vintage dresses to the latest fads. The madame seemed to be quite skilled.

It seems that Étoile was run by her husband and daughter, who are craftsmen who are not good at serving customers.

This dress…!

My eyes were glued to a design drawing of a dress.

It was a pure white wedding dress.

The dress had a princess line with a soft round shape, and was embroidered with fine lace in a floral pattern from the bust to the hem. The back of the dress was tied with a large ribbon around the waist, and it had a large draped skirt with multiple layers.

It was a very cute dress that wouldn’t suit me, but it would be wonderful to wear such a dress to a wedding…

And next to it…

“Did you find any good designs?”

“Wha…!”

Suddenly, my brother’s face appeared over my shoulder, startling me and making me panic.

“Hmm. Have you been imagining a wedding with Ricardo?”

“Eh…? Oh, um…”

My brother’s face looked unhappy as he looked into my face.

“Well…are you done already?”

“Yes. Madame is good and fast, so that helps a lot.”

Oddly, my brother didn’t mess with me and just let it go.

…That’s unusual. What’s going on?

“I can’t buy the dress that Charlotte was looking at, but how about this one?”

What my brother offered me was a below-the-knee length princess line dress with sleeves. The décolletage of the shoulders was transparent with a thin lace-like material, and from the chest to the hem, the fabric was adorned with white to light purple decorations. There were purple flowers embroidered all over the dress, making it look a little more mature yet still cute.

“It’s pretty!”

“I knew you’d like it. Can you try it on and show me?”

My brother pushed me into the curtains of the fitting room.

I took off the dress I was wearing and put on the new dress. The zipper in the back was raised by the madame.

The dress fit me perfectly, as if it had been custom-made for me.

“What do you think?”

I walked out of the fitting room and spun around in front of my brother to show him.

The hem swayed softly and was so cute!!!

“Yes. It looks great on you. You should wear it to the dinner party today. It’s a present from me.”

My brother closed his eyes and smiled.

I asked the Madame to fix a few things on the spot that were slightly concerning and it was all done quickly.

“Thank you, Brother!”

“You’re welcome, my princess.”

He dropped a small kiss on my forehead.

Ah…!?!

He looked at me as I turned red and grabbed my forehead.

“It’s no fun if the only one who does this is Ricardo.”

My brother laughed like a child who had successfully pulled a prank.

“Now, let’s get dressed and have lunch.”

He said and walked towards the madame.

The madame came back with my brother and helped me change as I finished my fitting.

I don’t know why, but I felt like my dress was more important than my brother’s uniform, but…

“Madame, thank you very much for your help.”

“Thank you very much, Madame! I’ll be back again.”

Me and my brother bowed to the madame.

“I will always be here waiting.”

We took the dress she had wrapped for us and left her store.

I kept waving at her until I could no longer see her store from inside the carriage.

Inside the carriage. Brother said that he had chosen Étoile not only because it was the place where our father had his uniforms made, but also because it was the most skilled and reliable store in the capital.

Many of the tailors on the main street were not reputable because they were expensive, rather than skilled, and could not prepare the goods in the promised time.

Many children were fooled by their glamorous appearances and the ease of finding them without having to look for them, but since they lacked research beforehand, it was their own responsibility…How tough.

“Well, I guess it can’t be helped, but if you just do a little research, you can find good tailors other than Madame’s Étoile.”

Good luck, young ones.

Although, I’m also young right now… -sweats-

By the way, the dress that I got was actually designed by my brother just for me.

He had sent the design and measurements to the madame, and she made it into a dress.

That’s why it fit so perfectly…

My size was known to the Avi family’s tailor.

It wasn’t until a while later that I found out about all this.
